For 70 lucky delegates there is even more to look forward to once the exciting soccer season has come to an end. The 2010 SAWomEng 5th Annual National Conference is creeping closer; which will see 70 aspiring female engineers pack away their Vuvuzela’s, and sport their hard hats with pride.
This year’s theme, which remains secret, was inspired by and is an interpretation (extension) of last year’s insightful technical project, “Sustainable Upliftment in Informal Settlements”. SAWomEng and its Partners acknowledge the need for broad based transformation in informal settlements and hence, endeavor to play an active role in achieving sustainability. All delegates with a thirst for knowledge and hands- on experience are to tackle the themed technical project, with the hopes of future implementation (of any proposed ideas). This in itself serves as a platform, (or Engineering Vuvuzela,) through which the voices of young female engineers are empowered and heard.
Alongside this, the conference has been planned with the 5 pillars of SAWomEng in mind, promising a week of high – end dining, entertainment and networking opportunities; an experience that you would not want to miss out on!
Final touches are being made by us, the Conference Executive, in the hopes to better the success of past conferences. We look forward to welcoming all delegates to the conference, an arena where together we will motivate, empower and Celebrate Women in Engineering.
