Building Sustainable communities through green building
Jenni Case is an associate professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Cape Town, with a special responsibility for academic development. She teaches in the undergraduate chemical engineering programme and her research on the student experience of learning has been widely published. She holds a BSc(Hons) degree in Chemistry from the University of Stellenbosch, as well as an MEd from the University of Leeds, an MSc from the University of Cape Town, and a PhD from Monash University.
In 2006 she was awarded the President’s Award from the National Research Foundation, awarded to outstanding young researchers who, on the basis of research outputs in their early postdoctoral careers have demonstrated that they are likely to become world leaders in their respective fields of research. In 2007 she was awarded the UCT Distinguished Teachers' Award. In 2009 she completed an MSc in Chemical Engineering. She has recently been elected the founding president of the Society for Engineering Education of South Africa (SEESA).
