Rustum August

Born and bred in Cape Town, he has been a regular on the Cape Town club comedy scene since 2008. A dry, quirky one liner and sometimes anti-joke comic is part of Starving Comics (A Cape Town Comedy Crew) as well as being the co-founder of The One Liner Society, which focuses on classic joke writing. His topics range from daily observations, clean, above the line jokes to blue comedy that would only suitable for club gigs.

Having performed to all kinds of audiences around the Western Cape from Stellenbosch to Kommetjie, he regularly performs comedy skits at various poetry shows around Cape Town. Slowly developing a cult following with each performance, it’s only a matter of time before more than just his imaginary friends join this cult following.

Currently, he is involved with two shows promoting local up and coming stand up comedians. Comics at Work, Audience Welcome (Every Sunday at OBZ THEATRE CAFÉ) and C.O.M.E (Comedy On Monday Evening) at Zula Sound Bar every Monday.
