Born and bred in England, Yvonne came to South Africa in 1978 to assume control of the South African subsidiary of an American Corporation with a seat on their American Board as a Senior Vice President.
Currently she owns her own business, Yvonne Finch Consulting, a company focusing on life skills and executive coaching, and offering strategic support to small and medium size companies. They also design and facilitate organisational and developmental workshops tailored to client’s requirements and run Mentoring Programmes.
Her Mentoring Programme has been accepted as a world benchmark for effective mentoring when she spoke at the International Bar Associations Annual Conference in Brussels earlier this year.
She sat on the National Small Business Advisory Council to the Minister for Trade and Industry from 2006 to 2009, was National Vice President for the Businesswomen’s Association from 2003 to 2007, and is currently a Corporate Ambassador and Continent Expert for Africa for Vital Voices, Washington. She has just been invited by the Department of Trade and Industry and the International Labour Organisation to serve on Strategic Framework Committee to oversee the finalisation of the Strategic Framework for Gender and Women’s Economic Empowerment. Yvonne is married, has one son and a grand-daughter.
